3D Vehicle Viewer

The interactive 3D car on the Home tab — rotate it, hold to repaint it, and how the color you pick is saved.

3D Vehicle Viewer

At the top of the Home tab, KDMLink renders your car as an interactive 3D model instead of a static photo — for the vehicles it has a model for. Drag left or right to spin it around, or press and hold it to change its paint.

Model availability depends on your vehicle:

The 3D model currently covers the Hyundai Veloster N, Elantra N, and Kona N. Any other selected vehicle shows the standard static vehicle image instead, in the same spot.

Rotating the car

The model is locked to a side-profile camera angle — it doesn't tilt up or down — but you can drag horizontally to orbit it around and view any angle. Vertical drags pass through to the Home tab's scroll instead of moving the car.

Repainting your car

Press and hold the car for about a second to open the Paint sheet.

1

Hold the car

Press and hold anywhere on the 3D model. A short haptic tap confirms the paint sheet is opening. The Home tab stays visible and undimmed behind the sheet so you can see your changes as you make them.

2

Pick a color

Tap one of the five stock swatches (Phantom Black, Ultimate Red, Intense Blue, Atlas White, Performance Blue) for a one-tap repaint, or use the color wheel below it for any custom shade — drag around the wheel for hue and saturation, and use the bar underneath for brightness. The model repaints live as you drag.

3

Done

Tap Done to close the sheet. Your choice is saved for this vehicle and reloads the next time you open the app.

Saved per vehicle:

Paint color is remembered separately for each vehicle profile. It also carries over to other places KDMLink renders your car in 3D, such as shared session card images.

If the model doesn't load

If the 3D model fails to load — a slow connection to a bundled asset, an unsupported device, or a timeout — KDMLink falls back to the same static vehicle image used for cars without a 3D model, so Home always shows something in that spot.

  • Home Dashboard — the widget grid that sits below the vehicle viewer.
  • Sessions — shared session cards render your car using this same paint color.
